See full activity log. As others have mentioned, the freezes seem to happen when atheos a lot of traffic, such as downloading or viewing streaming video. It might be interesting to know, but it likely would never allow me to use that card here or elsewhere since few WiFi’s are ever that empty.

I did see ag5212 that appeared to be similar to my situation, but no solutions that worked for me. Back sitting next to the AP: It seems there is a conflict in Network Manager, or between it and other programs it relies on, but only with certain devices of course, like my internal card; my usb wifi works fine.
It’s gonna show up as an older model, but it will work. Just looking for a free software laptop experience similar to the corporate OS’s, but without the bloat and spyware and so on. This is the output of lsmod grep ath: Do you already have an account?

Getting Atheros AR5212 Wireless Cards to Work with Windows XP
It’s a miracle anything works at all. Leaving mDNS atehros group on interface ath0. I can check the dd-wrt forum, haven’t done that yet, but things are looking dim. No new key needed. We have gone from an extreme high to an extreme low signal strength display.
I added an external wireless card which turned out to be another AR from Linksys. Would be great to get it right.

Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I’m going to mark athers as confirmed and let them handle it from here. I searched for the driver on google and nothing came up.
This ID is what the installer looks for, if not found in the list it won’t install the driver you can force an install. That’s what I thought in the first place too. It was previously working on Ubuntu ar2512.

You are not replacing the original INF with modded one. If I walk away a little then the receive level drops and I loose the connection pretty quicly.
The problems I can think of are: If you want me to try again, I will. But if you try sometime I don’t wanna go to ndiswrapper, rather go for an Intel based mini PCI-E card if not solved in the near future.
